Bloom pairs two unhurried 90-minute sessions into one booking. The first happens while you're expecting — a maternity sitting, or the family as it is right now before everything changes. The second happens once your baby arrives, any time within their first four weeks. Full edited gallery included both times, and the pair costs less than two separate sessions.

It's the bundle I'd choose for my own family, because it's the one that doesn't leave a gap. The waiting and the arrival are two halves of the same story — the last weeks of your family as it is, and the first weeks of what it becomes. Most families only photograph the second half, and the first quietly disappears.

The first sitting

While you're expecting, we spend ninety unhurried minutes at your place — or outdoors at a spot you love, if you'd rather. It can be a maternity session, the whole family together, or both in the same sitting. Nothing is staged or required of you: no outfit rules, no tidying, no rehearsing. The point is to record this strange, quiet in-between chapter exactly as it is.

Most families book this sitting somewhere in the second or third trimester, when you're showing comfortably and still feeling up to it — but there's no hard rule. We work around how you're feeling on the day.

The second sitting

Once your baby arrives, the newborn session happens at home, any time within their first 4 weeks after birth. Everything moves at your baby's pace — feeds, cuddles and settling breaks are built in, not squeezed around. I work mostly with the natural light from your windows, and bring a small flash with an umbrella and a bean bag for the close-up detail shots. No themed props or backdrops beyond that.

Because you've already met me at the first sitting, the second one starts as a catch-up rather than an introduction — which matters more than you'd think when you're a week into no sleep.

How booking works

• Book while you're pregnant — most families book Bloom in the second or third trimester.
• We pencil in both dates around your due date, then confirm once your baby arrives. If bub comes early or fashionably late, the newborn date simply moves with them.
• 90 minutes each time — nothing watched, nothing rushed.
• Full gallery included at both sittings — no restrictions, no upgrade decisions.
• Delivered within two weeks of each session, through a private online gallery.

I photograph sessions in homes across Frankston, Chelsea, Seaford, Langwarrin, Mt Eliza, Cranbourne and most of South-East Melbourne. Travel is included — if you're nearby but don't see your suburb listed, just ask.
