Deep Arora, Still & Golden Photography

The photographer

A fellow parent,
behind the lens

Hi, I'm Deep — a dad of two based in Cranbourne East, and the person behind Still & Golden. There's no studio and no script: I come to your place, work with your light, and photograph your family as it actually is.

I shoot this way because I'm living it. I know what 4pm with a toddler and a newborn looks like, and I know that one day your kids will go looking for a photo of you — the person who takes every photo and appears in none. My job is to make sure it exists.

Common questions

Everything families usually ask before booking. Anything else, just get in touch.

When should I book my newborn session?

Ideally while you're still pregnant — most families book in their second or third trimester to secure a spot. The session itself happens any time within the first 4 weeks after birth, and I keep the exact date flexible around your baby's actual arrival.

Do you travel to Frankston, Chelsea and surrounding suburbs?

Yes. I photograph families in their own homes across Frankston, Chelsea, Seaford, Langwarrin, Mt Eliza and most of South-East Melbourne. Travel is included — there's no extra charge for coming to you.

What happens during an in-home newborn session?

We spend around 1.5 to 2 relaxed hours at your place. There are no elaborate props or forced poses — I photograph feeds, cuddles, naps and all the small details while working entirely at your baby's pace. Pauses for feeding and settling are always built in.

Does my house need to be tidy or "photo-ready"?

Not at all. I work with the natural light from your windows and usually only need two or three spots — a bed, a couch, the nursery. The rest of the house can look exactly like a house with a newborn in it.

What should we wear?

Soft, simple and comfortable works best — think warm neutrals and gentle tones rather than big logos or bright fluoro. Once you book, I'll send through a short guide with easy outfit ideas for the whole family.

How long until we receive our photos?

Your fully edited gallery is delivered within 2 weeks of your session, through a private online gallery you can download and share with family.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions are grouped by how much time you want together. Glimpse is from $195 (30 minutes, 10 edited images), Golden from $250 (60 minutes, 20 edited images) and Gathered from $395 (90 minutes, 30+ edited images). Bloom, the bump-to-baby bundle of two 90-minute sessions, is from $595. Glimpse and Golden can both be upgraded to the full gallery afterwards — $75 on Glimpse, $50 on Golden — and Gathered and Bloom include it. Full details are in the sessions & pricing section above.

Do you provide the cake for cake smash sessions?

For dietary and allergen reasons, parents provide their own cake — that way you know exactly what your little one is eating. Any cake works, though a simple single-tier cake with soft icing smashes best. Everything else — the setup, the patience and a hand with the clean-up — is on me.

What if my baby is unsettled on the day?

Completely normal — and honestly expected. As a dad of two I've seen it all, and some of my favourite images come from the in-between moments. We simply pause for feeds and cuddles whenever needed. There's no time pressure.

Do you photograph toddlers and older kids too?

Absolutely. Family sessions cover every stage — toddlers, school kids, new siblings, grandparents. Whatever season your family is in, that's what we document.

Let's make
something beautiful
